Dutch cities join forces with national Smart City Strategy

Dutch cities have stressed the need for Smart City collaboration with the national government. Today they presented a strategy that was created in collaboration with the business community and scientists. Together they identified the critical needs for urban issues for which support from the national government is essential, such as high-end digital infrastructure and room for experiment.

The Dutch prime minister Mark Rutte, who received the first copy of the strategy, stressed the economic importance of a joint (inter)national proposition.

The Dutch towns and cities agree that investments in smart technologies are necessary to respond to the major societal challenges they face at local level.
